Johann Christian Wutzke

Johann Christian Wutzke (* 1767 in Arnhausen near Königsberg ; † July 10, 1842 ) was a German hydraulic engineering expert, administrative officer and chronicler.

Life

After studying architecture, Wutzke worked as a trainee lawyer at the building department from 1779. In 1801 he passed the master builder examination and in 1805 became assessor at the Prussian War and Domain Chamber Gumbinnen . In 1809 he became a building officer there. In 1810 he continued his administrative career in Königsberg, where he was later responsible for hydraulic engineering and dyke construction in the rank of government building director. He retired in 1837 and was promoted to the secret government and building councilor on that occasion. Among other things, he wrote a number of treatises on the waters and waterways of Prussia.

Wutzke was a member of the Physico-Economic Society in Königsberg in Prussia .
