Johann Christoph Ochs von Ochsenstein (born November 5, 1674 in Frankfurt am Main ; † August 9, 1747 ) was a senior mayor of Frankfurt.

Ochs was the son of the cloth merchant Johannes Ochs and his wife Rebecca Magdalena Sonnemann. In 1699 he married Elisabeth Clemm, the daughter of the lawyer Sebastian Clemm. He was the father of Heinrich Wilhelm Ochs von Ochsenstein (1702–1751). In 1731 he was raised to the nobility and was now called Ochs von Ochsenstein.

Ochs von Ochsenstein attended the University of Leipzig from 1690 and studied law. He interrupted his studies and went on trips. 1693 traveled to the Netherlands, 1695 to Geneva and Italy, 1696 to Vienna and Hungary. From 1696 he attended the University of Siena and from 1699 the University of Leiden where he received his doctorate in the same year. From 1699 he worked as a lawyer in Frankfurt and later in Bayreuth.

In 1704 he became a council member of the imperial city of Frankfurt, in 1714 a junior mayor and from 1721 a lay judge. In 1725, 1726, 1729 and 1741 he was elected Senior Mayor. In addition, he was the town schoolteacher from 1741 to 1747, in 1703 alms-keeper and later chairman of the consistory and scholarch .

From 1718 to 1719, 1726 to 1727 and 1729 to 1732 he was special envoy of the imperial city of Frankfurt to the emperor.
