Johann Conrad II. Rogg (born February 2, 1628 in Frauenfeld ; † October 10, 1683 there ) was a Swiss mayor and innkeeper.

Life

Johann Conrad II. Rogg was a son of Hans Conrad I. Rogg ( Grand Councilor , Lieutenant of the Thurgau troops in the Swedish War and Kronenwirt, d. 1635) and Maria Regula, nee. Hurter. Around 1648 he married Barbara Renhart. Johann Conrad II. Rogg is, with his grandfather Ulrich and his father, the founders of the important Thurgau family Rogg .

He took over the “Krone” inn, popular with the people and politicians, from his father.

Services

Rogg was town ensign , from 1663 procurator at the Thurgauer Landvogtei-Oberamt , from 1664 member of the Grand Council and from 1668 of the Small Council .

In 1679 he was elected mayor as the successor to the Catholic mayor Johann Carl Locher. He held this office alternately with his Protestant colleague Gabriel Engler until 1683.
