Johann Eberhard Ludewig Pavenstedt

Johann Eberhard Ludewig Pavenstedt (born August 22, 1827 in Bremen , † December 14, 1889 in Bremen) was a German lawyer and politician . He was a member of the Bremen citizenship (1856-1889).

biography

Pavenstedt was born as the son of the Bremen Senator Johann Eberhard Pavenstedt and studied law in Bonn after attending grammar school in Bremen . During his studies in 1848 he became a member of the Frankonia fraternity in Bonn and became a close friend of his brother Carl Schurz . He was promoted to Dr. iur. obtained his doctorate and then worked as a lawyer , high court attorney and as a judge in Bremen, where he was elected to the Bremen citizenship as a member of the scholarly class in 1856 and belonged to it for 33 years. Here he was the shop steward for the rural population and a member of many deputations . He was also a deacon in church institutions, among other things in the administration of the institute for the poor. He was also a consultant to the Chamber of Agriculture . Politically he was liberal .
