Johann Eberhard von Kronberg

Johann Eberhard von Kronberg (* 1547 ; † October 8, 1617 ) was the son of Georg I von Kronberg († before 1547) from the "wing trunk" of the Kronberg family and Margret von Fleckenstein .

Johann Eberhard von Kronberg was bailiff of the Alzenau Free Court , a condominium between the Electorate of Mainz and the County of Hanau-Munzenberg . From 1577 to 1617 he was burgrave of the Burggrafschaft Friedberg for over 40 years . During his tenure in Friedberg Castle, the Kronberger Hof, the residence of the Kronberger Burgmannen , was built in the high renaissance style between 1604 and 1610 . The building served as the seat of the Friedberg burgraves from 1698, was henceforth called " Burgraviato " and from the 19th century, as a secondary residence of the Grand Dukes of Hesse-Darmstadt , " Castle ".

Johann Eberhard von Kronberg was married to Anna Riedesel zu Eisenbach († 1609) since 1595 .
