Johann Erich Gottschalch

Johann Erich Gottschalch , pseudonym: Dr. Erich Eichen , (born January 11, 1884 in Dresden , † after 1938 ) was a German private scholar, editor and author.

Life

He was the son of Hofmeubleurs Andreas Woldemar Gottschalch. After attending secondary school, he studied at the University of Leipzig and then went to the University of Munich . From 1900 to 1903 Gottschalch worked in the administration of the Püchau manor and then on the Ölsnitz manor near Großenhain . He then continued his university studies in Leipzig and Munich until 1906. After a stay in Florence, he worked as an editor from 1909 and from 1910 as editor in Dresden. His work includes the regularly published Dresden calendar, the yearbook on artistic, intellectual and economic life in Dresden, as well as the volumesDresdner Jahrbuch und Chronik, which he published in his own publishing house. He specialized in city history and literature. His office was in Moltkeplatz 1 in Dresden.

In 1936 he also published issue no. 1/2 of the Freital and its beautiful surroundings series in the Groß-Dresden publishing house . Under the spell of the wind mountain. Magazine for economy, traffic, art and culture (German city guide) , which was not continued.
