Johann Fischl

Johann Fischl (born March 7, 1900 in Tobay , Hungary , today Burgenland , Austria , † December 24, 1996 in Graz ) was Professor of Theology at the University of Graz .

Fischl graduated from high school in 1919 and then studied theology at the University of Graz. In 1922 he was ordained a priest, in 1925 he received his doctorate in theology and, after studying in Rome in 1926, in philosophy. In 1935, Fischl became a professor of Christian philosophy and apologetics . 1940-1945 he was forced to retire. In 1955 he became professor of philosophy at the theological faculty. 1948–1949 and 1958–1959, Fischl was rector of the university. In 1970 he retired.

Johann Fischl's estate is in the possession of the Graz University Library .
