Johann Fladenstein
Johann Fladenstein (born January 18, 1558 in Kulmbach ; † April 13, 1618 there ) was a German lawyer.
Life
Johann Fladenstein was the son of the court clerk of the principality ob dem Gebirg , the later Margraviate of Brandenburg-Kulmbach , Hartung Fladenstein; in 1560 he became mayor of Kulmbach.
He attended school in Kulmbach and later studied philosophy at the University of Wittenberg , where he received his master's degree in 1581 under the deanery of Bartholomäus Tilemann . On October 20, 1590 he completed his habilitation at the University of Tübingen as Dr. jur. both rights and shortly afterwards became a lawyer in Kulmbach.
Georg Friedrich I of Brandenburg-Ansbach-Kulmbach appointed him court counselor and he remained in this position with his successor Christian von Brandenburg-Bayreuth .
In 1592 he became a judge at the court in Kulmbach and some time later he was appointed privy councilor .
On April 26, 1617, he decreed in his will that several scholarships should be funded as a Fladenstein-Stadtmann'sche Family Scholarship Foundation with 2,000 guilders.
On September 16, 1594, Johann Fladenstein married the widow of the court councilor Sebastian Kayser (1549–1592), Katharina († June 22, 1612), daughter of Nikolaus Stadtmann (1531–1607), privy councilor, chancellor and consistorial president in Kulmbach and his wife Euphrosina , born from Mohrstein. Although they had two children together, they died while Johann Fladenstein was still alive, so that he did not leave any natural heirs. However, two children came from his wife's previous marriage.
