Johann Friedrich Boll

Johann Friedrich Boll (born February 12, 1801 in Biel , † April 16, 1869 in Bern ) was a Swiss theologian .

He was the youngest of three children of a less well-off craftsman and first attended a boys' school . In 1818 Boll studied theology in Bern , and also gave private lessons . He is also elected as vicar to Nidau . In 1826 he supervised a first class as a teacher . In 1827 he married Sophie Schmalz von Nidau. In addition to his reformed pastoral office in 1832, Boll also worked several times as a schoolmaster and lecturer in the canton of Bern as well as head of a girls' work school .
