Johann Friedrich Coch

Johann Friedrich Coch (* 1624 in Rostock ; † 1683 ) was councilor and mayor of Stralsund.

Coch was the son of a Rostock councilor. He studied in Frankfurt ad Oder and in Greifswald. Coch was married to Maria Spengmann, daughter of a Stralsund councilor, from 1648, after her death from 1661 to Maria Veith, daughter of Stralsund mayor Henning Veith and widow of councilor Heinrich Müller. He had three children with the first wife and seven children with the second. His brother Christian Coch was an assessor at the Pomeranian court in Greifswald. In 1658 Coch was elected to the council, from 1681 until his death in 1683 he was mayor of Stralsund . His sons Bernhard Michael and Gottfried from the second marriage were in 1706 by Karl XII. raised to the Swedish nobility under the name of Cochenhausen . The daughter Maria from the second marriage was married to the Stralsund mayor Joachim Zander.
