Johann Friedrich Hennig

Johann Friedrich Hennig (probably * 1778 , † after 1806 ) was a German graphic artist , painter and engraver .

Today he is best known for his numerous colored copperplate engravings of fish, which he produced for the ichthyologist Marcus Bloch for the 12-volume work “Allgemeine Naturgeschichte der Fisch” (General Natural History of Fish) (published 1782 to 1795) . He also made some city views of Berlin.
