Johann Friedrich Walther (born June 14, 1695 in Berlin ; † July 29, 1776 there ) was a German teacher, organist and draftsman.

Life

Walther was a student and from 1716 to 1747 a teacher at the garrison school in Berlin . In 1716 he was also the organist of the school as the successor to Johann Martin Weiß . In 1722 he was entrusted with the organ of the new garrison church . In addition to his main job, he has written books and provided them with his own drawings. He published a first history of the Garrison Church in 1737 and of the Sebastian Church in 1757. In 1747 Walther became a treasurer .

Works

Walther created numerous drawings and plans that served as templates for the leading engravers of his time. His drawings of the buildings by Martin Grünberg and other Berlin architects are well known.
