Johann Georg Dietmayr

Johann Georg Dietmayr (* 1605 ; † August 12, 1667 in Vienna ; actually Johann Georg Dietmayr von Dietmannsdorf ) was an Austrian lawyer and three-time mayor of Vienna.

Life

Johann Georg Dietmayr studied law in Vienna and graduated with a baccalaureate in 1639 . In 1640 he became a city judge and from 1644 to 1648 a city judge. Then followed his eventful political career as Mayor of Vienna: He held this office from 1648–1654, 1656–1659 and finally from 1664 until his death.

In 1874 the Dietmayrgasse in Vienna- Brigittenau (20th district) was named after him.
