Johann Georg von Uffeln
Baron Johann Georg von Uffeln (born April 28, 1619 , † August 14, 1690 in Hamburg ), occasionally also Uffelen or Ufflen , Herr von Höxter and Borgentreich , was an officer from the Hessian noble house Uffeln . He initially served in the Lüneburg army before he was elected city commander of Hamburg on July 14, 1679. He already served the Hanseatic city during the Danish siege of 1679 , but then seems to have resigned his post in 1682 (after completion of the Hamburg Sternschanze ). During the Danish siege of 1686 , however, he was again city commander. Major general was given as his last military rank .
