Johann Gottfried Herrfurth

Johann Gottfried Herrfurth († October 28, 1807 in the Elbe ) was a royal Saxon administrator and manor owner. He was heir, feudal lord and court lord on Tauschwitz with Wichtewitz .

Life

As Elector of Saxony Executor Johann Gottfried Herrfurth bought by the noble family of Kirchbach in 1781 the manor Tauschwitz the Office Mühlberg from, in addition, he leased from 1770 the manor Großböhla. In 1779 he renewed the lease contract for the Großböhla manor through Charlotte Elisabeth widowed von Krosigk, née von Miltitz.

Johann Gottfried Herrfurth died in a dramatic accident on October 28, 1807 when he fell into the Elbe and was washed away by the water. His heavily decayed body was only recovered on April 10, 1808 and buried on the following April 14 in the cemetery in the city of Belgern . After Herrfurth's accidental death and his body was found, there were protracted disputes about the inheritance among his numerous children and grandchildren, as he had not left a will and the Tauschwitz estate had been converted into an inheritance shortly before (1805), including the daughters and Granddaughters could lay claim to the fiefdom. After agreement on the inheritance, the son of the same name, Johann Gottfried Herrfurth, took over the Tauschwitz manor. He died on December 11, 1833.

Johann Gottfried Herrfurth married Johanna Barbara nee Füllkeuss. He had six children with her, all of whom were baptized as Protestants between 1767 and 1779 in the church in Großböhla.
