Ernst Lintner (born January 15, 1943 in Kronsegg near Langenlois , Lower Austria ) is an Austrian opera singer ( tenor ).

Career

Lintner studied at the Vienna Music Academy with Elisabeth Radó and Alexander Kolo, a master class in lieder singing with Erik Werba , and further studies with Rudolf Holtenau, Renate Holm and Arthur Korn. His repertoire of main roles ranges from opera, operetta and sacred music to song. He had stage appearances as a tenor in Sou Chong ( The Land of Smiles ) , Der Vetter aus Dingsda , Der betrrogene Kadi , Alfred ( Die Fledermaus ) , Sigmund ( Die Walküre , most recently 2013), 9th Symphony (Beethoven, Sender Freies Berlin) in Austria, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Poland.

Competitions

Since 2004 he has been a member of the jury for lieder / chamber music at the International Brahms Competition in Pörtschach, and since 2011 in the direction of the Nico Dostal Singing Competition in Korneuburg.

Prizes and awards

Lintner received the professional title of Professor from Federal President Heinz Fischer in March 2011 for special cultural achievements in caring for the next generation of instrumental musicians and singers. In addition, the golden Robert Stolz Medal was awarded by Einzi Stolz for special services to the music of Robert Stolz .
