Johann Gottfried Mosig

Johann Gottfried Mosig (born September 20, 1726 in Nechern , † October 7, 1805 in Görlitz ) was a German Protestant theologian and pastor primarius of Görlitz.

Johann Gottfried Mosig, son of Eiserode's retainer Martin Mosig, lost with 3 resp. His family lived for 14 years, came to the orphanage in Halle in 1741 and from there in 1745 to study at the University of Leipzig . In 1749 he became pastor of Merzdorf , later of Nostitz , of Lissa and finally, in 1760, subdeacon in Görlitz. In 1774 he was appointed deacon and in 1789 archdeacon. From 1791 to 1803 he was Pastor Primarius von Görlitz. Mosig was married to the Leipzig citizen's daughter Marie Rosine Müller, with whom he had 13 children, of whom his daughter Juliane Florentine married the superintendent of Görlitz, Johann Christian Janke .
