Johann Högl

Johann Högl (* 1783 in Vienna ; † after 1841 ibid) was an Austrian master stonemason in Vienna and head of the Wiener Bauhütte .

Life

Johann was born into the Högl stonemason family, which has existed for generations . His grandfather Georg Andreas Högl , who grew up in the Eggenburg stonemason center in Lower Austria , married in Vienna and became a master of the Viennese stonemasonry . In the last year of his life he handed over his stonemason hut in Roßau to his son Johann Philipp, who was 24 years old. This Johann Philipp, Johann's father, married in Vienna Schottenkirche the 1781 host daughter Barbara Eckmayerin. Like his older brother Philipp Joseph, he learned the stonemason trade from his father himself. The younger brother Carl (* 1789) learned the trade of bricklayer .
