Johann Heinrich Neustück (* 1802 in Basel ; † July 1868 there ) was a Swiss sculptor .

life and work

Johann Heinrich Neustück was born in Basel as the son of the painter Maximilian Neustück . He became a sculptor and lived with his brother, the painter Johann Jakob Neustück , on Barfüsserplatz in the house on the green corner. One of his works in Basel is the statue of the Basel reformer Ökolampad in the Gothic Room in the Haus zum Schöneck (St. Alban-Vorstadt). He also created the models for the Trident Fountain in Freie Strasse. He led the modeling class that opened in 1841 at the "Drawing School" in Basel. The later well-known sculptor Ferdinand Schlöth was one of his students .
