Johann Heinrich am Ende (born August 24, 1645 in Pirna , † April 25, 1695 in Leipzig ) was a German painter who was mainly active in Dresden and Leipzig.

Life

Johann Heinrich at the end was probably a student of his uncle Christian Schiebling in Dresden. His best-known work, allegorical ceiling paintings on Giovanni Simonetti's ornate stucco ceiling in Leipzig's Old Trading Exchange on the Naschmarkt, is one of the war losses of the Second World War, which could not be reconstructed as part of the rebuilding of the building in 1978.

From 1690 he painted portraits of the 17 members of the Familiar Society in Leipzig in a magnificent album. As a thank you for the success of the work, he was allowed to add his self-portrait.
