John II of Beirut
Johann II of Beirut , also Johann von Ibelin , (* around 1230, † 1264 ) was lord of Beirut and a member of the noble family Ibelin .
He was the son of Balian of Ibelin , lord of Beirut , and his wife Eschiva of Montfaucon. After his death in 1247 he inherited the rule of Beirut from his father.
In 1260, together with the Knights Templar , he undertook a raid on the Muslim lands of Galilee . In the vicinity of Tiberias he was captured by Muslims and was only released on payment of a large ransom.
Around 1250 he married Alix von La Roche († after 1277), daughter of Guido I von La Roche , Duke of Athens . With her he had two daughters:
- Isabella (* around 1252, † 1282), mistress of Beirut
- Eschiva (* around 1253; † 1312), mistress of Beirut ∞ Humfried von Montfort
