Johann Jacob von Bertram

Johann Jacob von Bertram (born September 7, 1684 in Frankfurt am Main ; † June 15, 1742 ibid) was a politician in the imperial city of Frankfurt.

Life

Bertram was the son of a Frankfurt patrician. The family belonged to the patrician society Zum Frauenstein . He married Catharina Margarete Sondershausen in 1715.

Bertram studied from May 26, 1705 law at the University of Gießen and graduated with a licentiate . After graduating, he became a lawyer in Frankfurt am Main, where he took the oath of citizenship in 1713. There he became councilor in 1721 and alderman in 1727. In 1732 and 1734 he was Senior Mayor. In 1734 he became consistorial councilor.
