Johann Jakob Busch

Johann Jakob Busch, also Johann Jacob Busch (born April 21, 1727 in Marburg ; † January 20, 1786 ibid) was a German physician and university professor.

Life

After graduating as Dr. med. at the University of Marburg in 1764, Busch initially worked in Marburg as a city and country physician , and from 1765 also as a garrison medic . In October 1765 he became the third full professor at the Medical Faculty of Marburg University. From 1767 he was also Physicus of the Teutonic Order in Marburg. He then became second full professor of medicine in 1878, professor primarius finally in 1783. His main subjects were anatomy, surgery, physiology, pathology, maternity, gynecology and ophthalmology. Between 1770 and 1785 he was dean of the medical faculty several times.

His son is the physician Johann David Busch , his grandson the surgeon Dietrich Wilhelm Heinrich Busch . He was like these Freemasons and belonged to the Marburg lodges to the three lions and to the crowned lions .
