Johann Jakob Costenoble

Johann Jakob Costenoble (born January 11, 1766 in Herford , † May 23, 1838 in Magdeburg ) was a German judge and member of parliament .

Costenoble came from a family that originally lived in Bailleul and had emigrated to Germany in 1694. His father, Carl Heinrich Costenoble (1728–1778) was a preacher in Herford. The mother was Anna Katharina née Favreau (1737-1800) from Magdeburg. Costenoble, who was an Evangelical Reformed denomination, married Johann Dorothea Elisabeth Kalinsky (born October 13, 1774).

Costenoble studied law and became a judicial commissioner and criminal adviser for the Palatinate colony in Magdeburg. In 1791 he became lawyer and judge there. He was appointed by the Prussian government - although he was not a member of the French Church in Magdeburg - as a deputy of the French colony in Magdeburg .

During the French era , he was a prefectural councilor in the Elbe department from 1808 to 1813 . From June 2, 1808 to October 26, 1813 he was a member of the imperial estates of the Kingdom of Westphalia for the Elbe Department and the electoral group of scholars, artists and deserving citizens .

After the wars of liberation he was director of the royal Prussian regional and municipal court in Magdeburg.
