Johann Joseph Hackl (sculptor)
Johann Joseph Hackl (* around 1710 ; † November 12, 1785 in Wurzen ) was a wood sculptor at the court of the Saxon Elector in Dresden .
Hackl was brought from Prague to Dresden by Gaetano Chiaveri in 1737 to help build the Catholic Court Church . In 1741 he was appointed court sculptor in Dresden. Together with Joseph Deibel , he made the church furnishings .
In 1750, Hackl built the sound cover of the pulpit created by Balthasar Permoser in the court church. He made the prospectus for Gottfried Silbermann's organ and the confessional stalls. Hackl also built the interior of the “Zum Heiligen Kreuz” chapel in the Taschenbergpalais and the Palais Brühl .
