Johann Kiefer

Johann Kiefer (born November 6, 1914 in Mettnich ; † after 1961) was a Saarland politician ( CDU ).

After elementary school, Kiefer attended an agricultural vocational school from 1930 to 1933 and then worked in his parents' farm. In 1936 he was called up for military service and in 1939 for military service at the front. He was wounded three times and eventually ended up in American captivity, from which he was released in July 1945. He then took over a farm in Primstal . He became the local chairman of the Saarland farmers' association in Primstal and later its chairman in the St. Wendel district .

In 1949 he was elected mayor of Primstal. In 1955 he joined the newly founded CDU local association Primstal and was a delegate at the founding assembly of the CDU Saar. In the same year he was elected to the Saarland state parliament. There he was chairman of the committee for food, agriculture and hunting, secretary of the committee for internal administration and local politics as well as a member of the committee for legal questions. In 1961 he left parliament.
