Johann Müllerperth (born July 15, 1957 in Sântana ( German  Neu-Sankt-Anna ), People's Republic of Romania ) is a German goldsmith .

Life

He completed his training as a goldsmith from 1978 to 1981 in Pforzheim . This was followed by studies at the University of Applied Sciences for Design in Pforzheim with Reinhold Reiling, Klaus Ullrich and Hermann Stark in jewelry design with a diploma.

Since 1986 Müllerperth has been a lecturer for master courses for goldsmiths in Pforzheim (design and illustration technology). From 1988 to 1991 he was a lecturer at the Schwäbisch Gmünd College of Design .

He was a member of the jury, among others at the international jewelry competition "NATUR und ZEIT" of the Society for Goldsmithing ( Hanau ) and at the Swiss Design Crafts Prize.

Johann Müllerperth has had an independent design studio since 1985. He is married to the art glass blower Kerstin Müllerperth. His daughter is the pianist Magdalena Müllerperth .

Awards and recognitions

Müllerperth received, among other things, an honorary award (1984) and a special award (1986) in the international pearl design competition in Japan, a commendation in the international competition "Diamant Today 1985" De Beers, a promotion award "Jewelery 86 - Goldsmiths of Our Time" in the House of Art, Munich (1986) and the 1st prize Victor Mayer Jubilee Prize (1990), Pforzheim.

In 1991 Müllerperth was appointed town goldsmith in Schwäbisch Gmünd.

Exhibitions and purchases

Johann Müllerperth presented his work at national and international exhibitions, trade fairs and galleries, among others in Bonn, Munich, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Hanau as well as in Switzerland, Austria, the USA, Israel, Hungary and the Netherlands. At the end of 2016, a large exhibition "Nature in Gold and Glass" took place together with art glass objects by his wife Kerstin in the New Orangery at Schwetzingen Castle.

His works can be found in the Pforzheim Jewelery Museum , the German Goldsmith's House (Hanau), the Museum for Nature and Urban Culture (Schwäbisch Gmünd), the Bellerive Museum (Zurich) and the Deutsche Pinakothek (Munich).
