Life

Johann Mathias Prücklmayer was a farmer's son from St. Bernhard , who was supported by the pastor of Friedersbach and studied in Vienna. A scholarship enabled him to graduate as a Doctor of Law. Then he was court attorney, in 1631 Lower Austrian Chamber Procurator , then Imperial Councilor. In 1637 Emperor Ferdinand III made him . to the real councilor at the secret court chancellery and in 1648 he became a secret councilor and court chancellor. On July 19, 1640 Prücklmayer was admitted to the Lower Austrian knight dynasty, on January 6, 1648, after his reign, he was raised to the title of "Baron of Goldegg". In 1652 he bought the Atzgersdorf estate . Johann M. Prücklmayer died in 1657 and left two daughters, Anna Katharina, who was first married to Philipp Freiherr von Unverzagt and then to Johann Graf von Wagenspurg. This sold the Goldegg estate to Countess Maria von Trautson in 1669 . The second daughter Lucia Ludomilla married Johann Freiherrn von Charnier.

The family of the Lower Austrian "Freiherrn von Goldegg" existed for only one generation. This family must not be confused with the sex of the Barons Goldegg von und zu Goldegg and Lindenburg .
