Johann Michael Trost (born July 19, 1783 in Nuremberg ; † March 2, 1856 ibid) was a German glass , oil and tin painter and draftsman.

Life

Michael Trost was the son of the porcelain and glass painter Johann Balthasar Trost and the grandson of the porcelain painter Johann Martin Trost . The painter Wilhelm Friedrich Trost and the can painter Ferdinand Eduard Trost emerged from his marriage to Maria Hedwig Rötter († 1838) in 1808 , while the painter Friedrich Trost the Elder and the Younger emerged from the line of Wilhelm Friedrich .

Michael Trost worked as a glass painter on the Regensburg Cathedral, among other things . From 1822 he worked in Nuremberg as an oil and can painter. He died in the Heilig-Geist-Spital as a result of an accident . His pictures are still traded today.
