Johann Nikolaus Maas (* around 1664 in Zell (Mosel) ; † around 1721 in Klotten ) was an electoral bailiff and magistrate in Klotten.

Life

Johann Nikolaus Maas was a son of the deputy and administrator Nikolaus Maas from Zell. After the electorate Oberstlandhofmeister Dietrich Adolf Graf von Metternich-Winneburg-Beilstein, married to Johanna Elisabeth Countess von Leiningen-Westerburg (1659-1708), died childless on December 24, 1695 on a trip to his Bohemian estates, Maas acted as mediating estate administrator. For this purpose, Maas formally took over Winneburg, which is located in what is now the city of Cochem , mostly also known as Winnenburg , including accessories and Metternich Castle in Beilstein on the Moselle, only a few kilometers away . On January 11, 1696, Maas also took over the possession of the high court in Alflen in the Eifel to swear in the high court persons there.
