Johann Püllenberg

Johann Püllenberg (also Johannes Püllenberg ; born September 30, 1790 in Lügde , † May 29, 1856 in Paderborn ) was a German Roman Catholic theologian and philosopher .

Life

Despite the limited resources of his parents, Johann Püllenberg first attended the private Franciscan school in Lügde, before he graduated from the Paderborn grammar school. He stayed in Paderborn and studied theology at the local institution and was ordained a priest in 1813 . From 1814 to 1817 he was a chaplain in Sommersell and Schwalenberg .

Püllenberg returned to Paderborn in 1817. There he became a teacher at the high school. At this he worked until 1854, teaching in particular the philosophical propaedeutics. He was promoted to Dr. theol. PhD and 1825 Professor of philosophy at the episcopal establishment appointed . From 1826 to 1844 he was also sub-rain of the Paderborn seminary . In addition, he was active in pastoral care .
