Johann Peter Haseney
Johann Peter Haseney (born November 27, 1812 in Mehlis , † April 10, 1869 in Munich ) was a German engraver .
Life
First he completed an apprenticeship as a gunsmith with his father , then he learned his trade from the engraver, punch cutter and mechanic Hulm. Haseney came to Munich through his wanderings from 1832 . There he worked at a mathematical-mechanical institute as an engraver and a scholarship enabled him to study mathematics. In 1835, the Bayerische Hypotheken- und Wechsel-Bank received the order to produce banknotes worth 8 million guilders on the instructions of King Ludwig I. With his help, the Bavarian central bank was able to make the banknotes more forgery-proof. From 1851 he had a permanent position at this bank.
In Munich he made various designs for postage stamps . He designed Germany's first postage stamp, the Black One, and was responsible for its cost estimates. This stamp was issued in the Kingdom of Bavaria from November 1st, 1849 .
Haseney was never an employee at Seitz, as it can sometimes be misread.
