Johann Peter Morgenländer

Johann Peter Morgenländer (* 1736 in Hordorff in Halberstadt; † 1811 ) was a Prussian forestry councilor, secret finance councilor and president of the regional building department .

Johann Peter Morgenländer is first mentioned in 1771 as a secret forestry council in the forestry department. Around 1774 he married in Küstrin Friederique Henriette (1757–1807), daughter of the New Mark forest master von Sohr. In 1778, after the departure of the second director of the senior building department, Johann Christian Voss, his successor and building officer, from 1790 he became sole director and 1794 president. He was the author of the so-called Morgenländerschen forest description from the year 1780. In April 1801 he became chairman of the newly established academic deputation at the Oberbaudepartement, which also included Riedel, Gilly , Eytelwein and Becherer . In 1809 he was dismissed, meanwhile appointed to the secret chief finance councilor.
