René Biolay
René Maurice Biolay (born July 24, 1902 in Saint-Martin-des-Besaces , † March 3, 1945 in Buchenwald concentration camp ) was a French racing driver .
Career
René Biolay was active as a racing driver in the 1930s. He drove monopostor races and entered the Le Mans 24-hour race twice . After a fourth place in 1938 , he reached sixth place overall in 1939 . His best finish in a sports car race was second in the 1938 Paris 12 Hours . He finished seventh at the 1939 Grand Prix de Pau .
René Biolay was a member of the Resistance during World War II . After his arrest, he was executed in Buchenwald concentration camp in March 1945 .
