Paris 12 hour race, 1938
The 1938 12-hour race in Paris , also known as 12 Heures de Paris, Montlhéry , took place on September 11th of this year on the Montlhéry circuit.
The race
The Paris 12 Hours was an endurance race for automobiles from the 1930s. As in previous years, the 1938 racing event was held on the dangerous and feared steep curve racing track of Montlhéry. After the Second World War , the race was continued as the 1000 km race in Paris and in the 1960s was part of the World Sports Car Championship .
38 vehicles in six racing classes were registered, 31 of which were able to qualify for the race. The race was won by the two Frenchmen René Le Bègue and André Morel on a works - Talbot-Lago T26 . It is worth mentioning the third place overall for the all-women team Germaine Rouault and Anne-Cécile Rose-Itier .
