Louis Marie Armand Robert de Courson dela Villeneuve (born August 23, 1889 in Hénon ; † January 28, 1969 ) was a French racing driver .

Career

Louis Villeneuve was active and successful as a racing driver in the 1930s. Between 1934 and 1939 he competed five times in the Le Mans 24-hour race , each time reporting the vehicles himself. He achieved the best results in 1938 and 1939 , when he and his partner René Biolay reached fourth and sixth overall on a Delahaye 135 CS. 1938 was his most successful season when, in addition to fourth place at Le Mans, he was second overall in the 1938 12-hour race in Paris .

In 1946, shortly after the end of World War II , he attempted a comeback in monoposto sports . He started at the Grand Prix du Roussillon , where he finished eighth in the Delahaye 135 S. In the Coupe de la Résistance , he missed the race qualification. Both events ended with the victory of Jean-Pierre Wimille in an Alfa Romeo Tipo 308 .
