Johann Philipp Eisel

Johann Philipp Eisel (* 1698 in Erfurt ; † around 1763 there ) was a German lawyer and composer .

Life

Eisel worked in Erfurt as a lawyer and versatile music lover as well as an “excellent” cellist . "As a composer he had a special talent for imitating the manner of other good composers". The textbook Musicus autodidactus , which is ascribed to him, contains important information about the construction and playing of instruments from the first half of the 18th century.
