Johann Rentzel (also: Johannes Rentzelius ; * August 20, 1569 in Hamburg ; † August 5, 1631 in Leipzig ) was a German lawyer in Dresden and Leipzig.

Johann Rentzel was born on August 20, 1569 in Hamburg. He attended the universities of Rostock (1587), Marburg (1561) and Wittenberg (1593). In 1596 he supported the imperial chamber procurator Hieronymus Treutler zu Kroschwitz in his business in Bautzen, Meissen and Silesia. In 1597 he received his doctorate. of the rights in Basel.
