Johann Simon Bauermüller

Johann Simon Bauermüller (* 1679 in Dettelbach ; † 1737 ) was a German physician and anatomist .

Life

After studying medicine in Halle with Georg Ernst Stahl , who later named him one of his most important students, Bauermüller worked as a garrison medic in Würzburg . On November 10, 1714 he became associate professor and on April 16, 1721 full professor at the University of Würzburg . Bauermüller held the Würzburg chair for anatomy from 1721 to 1731.

In 1726 the baroque Theatrum Anatomicum in the garden pavilion of the Juliusspital in Würzburg was set up under his direction .

One of his well-known students was the physician Franz Joseph von Oberkamp .
