Johann Singer (born January 18, 1958 in Steyr , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and has been a member of the National Council since October 28, 2008 . Johann Singer is also mayor of the community of Schiedlberg in Upper Austria.

Life

Johann Singer was born on January 18, 1958. He completed his school education with the Matura at the Steyr Commercial Academy. After that, he initially worked as a contract employee for the state of Upper Austria and then became a state official at the Steyr-Land district administration. 1985/86 he was government commissioner in Losenstein , 2007 he became government commissioner in Weyer .

Political career

Singer founded his political career in the ÖVP in 1989 as a member of the Schiedlberg party executive. Since 1997 he has been a member of the district party executive, since 2001 education officer of the district party and since 2007 party chairman of the ÖVP Schiedlberg. For 18 years, Singer was also the head of the ÖAAB BH Steyr-Land group. In the community of Schiedlberg he has been a member of the local council since 1985 and chairman of various committees there. Since 1999 he has been a member of the parish council, from 1997 to 2008 he was parliamentary group chairman and since January 11, 2008 he has been the mayor of his home parish.

Private

Johann Singer lives in Schiedlberg , is married and has two daughters and a son. He is also active in his parish, in the Red Cross and in the village music of Schiedlberg. On 20 March 2020 it was announced that singer as the first Member of Parliament in the context of COVID-19 pandemic in Austria to COVID-19 is ill.
