Johann Sinnhuber

Johann Sinnhuber (born March 27, 1887 at Gut Wilkoschen near Gumbinnen , East Prussia , † October 23, 1979 in Augsburg ) was a German officer , most recently general of the artillery in World War II .

Life

Sinnhuber served as an officer in the First World War . After the war he switched to the Reichswehr and worked as a commander and general staff officer in various units. In the Wehrmacht he led the 28th Infantry Division as commander during World War II . In 1943, Sinnhuber took over the LXXXII as commanding general . Army Corps . In the last days of the war he was appointed commanding general of the Hamburg-Bremen defense area.
