Johann Solbrig

Johann Wilhelm Georg Christian Solbrig (born November 12, 1778 in Bombeck , † June 24, 1850 in Zichtau ) was the owner of the Zichtau estate . He is known for the reforestation of the Hellberge that he initiated .

Life

Solbrig was born as the sixth and youngest child of the theologian Ernst Julius Solbrig and Anna Maria Luise Catharina Solbrig, née Roth (e) .

He first leased the Berge estate north of Gardelegen . In 1811 he acquired the Zichtau estate from the von Alvensleben family . He carried the title of District Administrator . From 1817 he had the Hellberge, which had been completely deforested at that time, reforested. The forest that still exists on this ridge goes back to his activity. Around 1820 he began to create a landscape park at the manor house, which was then much noticed.

In 1823 his first wife Dorothea Wilhelmine Jacobi died , with whom he had two daughters. In 1825 he married Charlotte Friedericke Schulze in Kalbe . Another daughter was born from this marriage. His second wife died as early as 1837.

On June 24, 1850, Solbrig died at the age of 71 in Zichtau. The burial there took place on June 27th.
