Zichtau is a village and part of the Hanseatic town of Gardelegen in the Altmark district of Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt .
geography
The Altmark village of Zichtau, a clustered village with the Zichtau estate , is 11 kilometers northwest of Gardelegen on the Zichtauer Bäke in the north of the Hellberge . The Zichtau district also includes the Langen Berg and Stakenberg , the largest elevations in this chain of hills. To the south-east of the village, on the site of the former village of Ferchel, is the Ferchel oak natural monument . To the north of Zichtau there are two other well-known hiking destinations: the thousand-year-old Zichtau oak and the Himmel und Hölle gorge .
history
A mention of Zichtau comes from the year 1420, when the estate was acquired for the Kalbe rule. A certificate about this is not known. A note in a manuscript about the von Alvensleben written by Gottlieb Leberecht Zarnack in 1774 names the Zichtausche Gut anno 1420 .
The village was first documented in 1473 as Czychtow mentioned as Elector Albrecht of Brandenburg buses, Ludolph and Gebhard von Alvensleben with Kalbe, Bismark and other possessions invested . Further mentions are 1506 Czichtow , 1551 Sichtow , 1608 Sichtow , 1687 Zichtow . The estate belonged to Alvensleben from 1473 to 1681, when it was divided. Rittergut I (Alte Seite) later belonged to the Minister of State von Goßler and the descendants of Goßler from 1853 to 1945. The manor II (Neue Seite) went to the bailiff Solbrig from 1811 and from 1851 to 1945 also to the Minister of State von Goßler and the descendants of Goßler.
Incorporations
On July 1, 1994, the community was reclassified from the Gardelegen district to the Altmark district of Salzwedel . On October 17, 1928, the Zichtau manor district was united with the rural community of Zichtau with the stipulation that the exclaves Zichtauer Wiesen and the meadow in Grauing were united with the rural community of Schenkenhorst .
By means of an area change agreement, the Zichtau municipality council decided on June 22nd, 2009 that the Zichtau municipality should be incorporated into the Hanseatic city of Gardelegen. This contract was approved by the county as the lower local supervisory authority and came into effect on January 1, 2010.
After the previously independent municipality of Zichtau was incorporated, Zichtau became part of the Hanseatic city of Gardelegen. For the incorporated municipality, the local constitution was introduced according to §§ 86 ff. Of the municipality code of Saxony-Anhalt . The incorporated community of Zichtau and the future district of Zichtau became the locality of the receiving Hanseatic city of Gardelegen. A local council with six members, including the local mayor, was formed in the incorporated municipality and now the village of Zichtau.
