Location of the village of Wannefeld in Gardelegen

Wannefeld is a town and part of the Hanseatic town of Gardelegen in the Altmark district of Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The Altmark village Wannefeld located 14 kilometers northeast of Calvörde in Colbitz-Letzlinger Heath and the Altmark . The village is located about ten kilometers south of the old town of Gardelegen. The Wannegraben flowing in the north merges with the Brandgraben coming from the south to the Wanneweh. The Klüdensche Berg in the southwest is about 90 meters high.

Local division

In addition to Wannefeld with its residential areas Finkenbucht, Kenzendorf and Neuemühle, the district of Polvitz belongs to the community of Wannefeld .

history

In 1376, Wannefeld is first mentioned as Wevenwoder . Further mentions are 1398 dat dorp tu wenwede , 1507 Wenwede , 1687 Wannefeldt . The place emerged as a Rundplatzdorf (Rundling) which was later expanded to the east, as can be seen from the Urmes table sheet from 1823. In 1725 and 1824 there was a fire in the village. In 1842 there was a report of a school house with a teacher. The residents did some growing of hops. At the beginning of the 20th century, there were three windmills east of the village on the way to Letzlingen. The peace oak from 1896 in front of the former school building had to be sawed off in 2012 due to pest infestation. A successor was planted.

In the summer of 2018, the Wannefelder celebrated the town's 620th anniversary with a village festival, probably not knowing the mention from 1376, which the historian Peter P. Rohrbach published in early 2018.

Agriculture

During the land reform in 1945 the following were recorded: three possessions over 100 hectares with a total of 1199 hectares, 55 possessions under 100 hectares with a total of 928 hectares, two community meetings with a total of 8 hectares. 1199 hectares were expropriated. Of this, 80.9 hectares were divided between 16 poor farmers with property under 5 hectares, 53.9 hectares between 10 landless farmers and small tenants, 8.9 hectares went to three resettlers . It was not until 1959 that the first type III agricultural production cooperative was established , the LPG " Nikolai Michailowitsch Schwernik ", the second was the LPG type III "Frohe Zukunft". The successors of the cooperatives were dissolved in 1991.

Incorporations

On September 30, 1928, the Polvitz-Kenzendorf manor district was combined with the rural community of Wannefeld to form the rural community of Wannefeld. This is how the Kenzendorf residential area came to Wannefeld. On July 1, 1950, the municipality of Polvitz-Neuemühle was incorporated into Wannefeld. This brought the Polvitz district and the Neuemühle residential area to what was then Wannefeld.

On January 1, 1974, the municipality of Roxförde was incorporated into Wannefeld from the Gardelegen district . On June 1, 1989, the district of Roxförde was spun off from Wannefeld and Roxförde became a municipality again.

On June 6th, 2009, the council of the municipality of Wannefeld decided that the municipality of Wannefeld should be incorporated into the Hanseatic city of Gardelegen. This contract was approved by the county as the lower local supervisory authority and came into effect on January 1, 2010.

After incorporation of the previously independent community of Wannefeld, Wannefeld and Polvitz became districts of the Hanseatic city of Gardelegen. For the incorporated municipality, the local constitution was introduced according to §§ 86 ff. Of the municipality code of Saxony-Anhalt . The incorporated community of Wannefeld became the locality of the receiving Hanseatic city of Gardelegen. A local council with seven members, including the local mayor, was formed in the incorporated community and now Wannefeld. The districts of Wannefeld and Polvitz belong to the community of Wannefeld.
