Lüffingen is a district of the hamlet of Hemstedt and the Hanseatic city of Gardelegen in the Altmark district of Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The Altmark Kirchdorf Hemstedt located approximately five kilometers north of Gardelegen on the county road 1099. In the south of Hemstedter flows digging into the gentleness that flows west of the village to the north.

history

The first documentary mention comes from the year 1284 as villam Luͤffinge . Further mentions are 1541 Lüffing and already 1687 Lüffingen . The village belonged to the von Rundstedt family until 1284 and the Neuendorf monastery from 1284 to 1544 . In addition, before 1473 the von Alvensleben had rights over the waters of the Milde along with fishing from the mill in Lüffingen to the Biese. In 1598 leases and services were sold to the elector.

Incorporations

On January 1, 1974, the community of Lüffingen from the Gardelegen district was incorporated into the Hemstedt community, which was reclassified on July 1, 1994 to the Altmark district of Salzwedel. With the incorporation of Hemstedt in Gardelegen on July 1, 2009, the district Lüffingen became the new hamlet of Hemstedt and the city of Gardelegen.

  • The Protestant village church in Lüffingen is a late Romanesque field stone hall with a younger, retracted square west tower, which was renovated in the first half of the 19th century.

The Protestant parish Lüffingen used to belong to the parish Lüffingen in a branch church in Hemstedt. Since 1982 the parishes of Lüffingen and Hemstedt have been administered by the parish of Lindstedt. Since 2007 they belong to the parish in the parish Lindstedt Lindstedt area of the church district Salzwedel in Propst Sprengel Stendal Magdeburg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany . Until 1998 the parish belonged to the parish of Gardelegen.
