About this picture
Location of the village of Sichau in Gardelegen

Tarnefitz belongs to the village of Sichau and is a district of the Hanseatic city of Gardelegen in the Altmark district of Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The Altmark village of Tarnefitz is a good one and a half kilometers northwest of Sichau and just under five kilometers north of Mieste in the west of Gardelegen on the Tarnefitz Elbe , which south of Siems together with the Siems ditch becomes the Sichau Beeke.

history

In 1394 Tarnefitz was first mentioned as dat dorp to terneuitze or ternovitze .

Today's Tarnefitz was rebuilt in the years 1738 and 1739 as a colonist village with a jug on the great Hamburg-Leipzig freight road on a desert field with the old name. This desert is mentioned in the house book of the parish of Jeggau. The village belonged to the Royal Domain Office of Neuendorf Monastery . Wilhelm Zahn thinks that the deserted village in the northeast was close to the current village, where several old roads meet. From the colonists village in the form of a line village later one street village developed.

Incorporations

On July 1, 1950, the municipality of Tarnefitz was incorporated into Sichau from the Gardelegen district . With the incorporation of Sichau into the Hanseatic city of Gardelegen on January 1, 2011, the district of Tarnefitz became part of the newly created village of Sichau and the city of Gardelegen.
