Lotsche is a district of the Hanseatic town of Gardelegen in the village of Seethen in the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt , Germany.

geography

The Altmark street village Lotsche located about 14 kilometers northeast of the town Gardelegen . The Lindstedter Grenzgraben in the west forms the border to neighboring Seethen.

history

In 1362 Lotsche was first mentioned as Latzeke in a bond for the Magdeburg citizen Hans Kopeke. Rorlach lists other names, including 1409 Latzke by Zeten , 1457 Latsche and 1804 Lotsche

From around 1418 to 1544 part of the village belonged to the Neuendorf monastery . The noble families von Alvensleben , von Sandersleben and von Dequede had income here. In 1720 a water mill is mentioned.

In Losche there was a station of the Altmärkische Eisenbahnen AG on the Groß Engersen – Vinzelberg line, which was in operation from 1899 to 1921.

Incorporation

On July 1, 1950, the Lotsche community was dissolved and incorporated into the Seethen community in the Gardelegen district . Since Seethen was incorporated into Gardelegen on January 1, 2011, the Lotsche district has been part of the newly created village of Seethen and the Hanseatic city of Gardelegen.

The Protestant Christians from Lotsche used to be churched in the Seethen parish, which belonged to the Lindstedt parish. Today they are supervised by the parish area Lindstedt of the church district Salzwedel in Propst Sprengel Stendal Magdeburg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .
