Erwin Moeller
Erwin Moeller (born June 13, 1883 in Allenburg , † October 21, 1966 in Eberswalde ) was a German administrative lawyer in East Prussia. For over 30 years he was mayor of Allenburg in three German forms of government.
Life
Moeller's parents were the reigning judge in Allenburg and his wife, who came from the nearby Trimmau manor . Moeller attended the Royal Wilhelms-Gymnasium in Königsberg (Prussia) and studied law at the Albertus University . In the winter semester of 1903/04 he was active in the Corps Masovia . He served with the Litthau Uhlan Regiment No. 12 in Insterburg , where he was also a trainee lawyer . After Allenburg had been largely destroyed in the First World War in 1914 , Moeller was elected mayor of the third town in the Wehlau district for 12 years . He played an essential part in the reconstruction and further development of the small old town. He took care of the motor ship connection on the Pregel with Königsberg. In 1927 in the Weimar Republic and in 1939 in the time of National Socialism he was re-elected for 12 years each. He stayed in his community until 1945, and at his own risk he recommended that the residents flee to the West ( forbidden by Gauleiter Erich Koch ). He fled to Saxony and stayed in the GDR . In Borna he was still a few years Regierungsrat . After he and his wife Ida geb. Koch had celebrated the golden wedding anniversary, he died while visiting his daughter and her family in Eberswalde.
