Erwin Möller

Erwin Möller (born March 25, 1924 in Bieren , East Westphalia ; † November 5, 2005 in Schwenningdorf , Großgemeinde Rödinghausen ) was a German teacher , linguist , instrument maker , local researcher , beekeeper and author who lived and worked in Rödinghausen in the Wiehen Mountains .

Live and act

After Möller's apprenticeship in the office of the concrete plant in Bieren, he went on to study teaching at the Bielefeld University of Education . His teaching profession he practiced at the elementary school beers later elementary school ales, most recently as Director.

Möller was known not only in Germany, but also in large parts of Europe as an instrument maker, expert for instruments and as an expert in tablature . He himself built numerous guitars , lutes and cellos .

He published articles, brochures and books. After early publications on beekeeping and the Rödinghauser nativity scene, he systematically devoted himself to his mother tongue, the Rödinghauser dialect , a variant of the Ravensberger Platt . The dictionary “Segg et up Platt” (Platt-Hochdeutsch, Hochdeutsch-Platt) must be regarded as his most important work. But his life's work, the most important goal of his work, was the translation of the New Testament "Jesus owwer sia", which elevated a local dialect that had previously been neglected and hardly spoken to the rank of a literary language.
