Zichtau village church

The Zichtau village church is the Protestant church in the village of Zichtau in the Altmark in Saxony-Anhalt .

building

The church was built in 1589, presumably on the foundations of a previous building. The building of the half-timbered , rectangular, plastered church was carried out under Ludolf XIII. von Alvensleben (1555–1610), who founded the pastor's office. A renovation took place in 1779. Plastered half-timbered extensions were built on the north and south sides. An inscription with a coat of arms above the entrance refers to Johann Friedrich VII von Alvensleben (1747–1829) and Carl Ludolf von Alvensleben (1746–1813) as donors .

The tower is designed as a square roof tower with a hood and is located on the west side. The lantern of the tower turns into an octagon. The interior of the nave has a flat ceiling that rests on coves .
